The new tourist center, created with the support of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, will contribute to the popularization of science, technology and the creation of conditions for attracting young specialists to the enterprises of the scientific and production complex of the science city, which meets the objectives of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" and the initiatives of the Decade of Science and Technology.
"The Novosibirsk region is actively developing popular science tourism as part of the initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology. Our region was one of the first in the country to join this direction, becoming one of the pilot subjects back in 2022. It is especially important that it is in Koltsovo that one of the key objects that open up new horizons for scientific tourism is located - the Collective Use Center "Siberian Ring Photon Source," - commented the vice-governor of the Novosibirsk region Irina Manuilova.
The science city notes that with the launch of SKIF, at least two thousand leading scientists will come to Koltsovo annually, who will create a steady demand for intellectual leisure and acquaintance with the history and culture of the science city. Now the issue of creating a specialized museum of science is being worked out.
