Rossiyskaya Gazeta: They Did it in Russia. Technoprom Annual Forum Work Completed in Novosibirsk

The 5th International Forum of Technological Development (IFTD) “Technoprom” completed its work in the Novosibirsk Region. Over the five years of its presence, it had become a place where decisions important for the development of the economy of the country as a whole were made.

At the Technoprom forums of the previous years, the technological cooperation of the Russian GLONASS Satellite Navigation System with the Chinese BeiDou was established. At the initial stages, the two organizations talked about the need for establishing the cooperation of the Russian regions in the development of the Arctic. Today, a concrete result has been achieved. A catalogue of all the enterprises working to implement this project has been prepared.

This year, the slogan of the forum is “The Perspective of Leadership: Do in Russia!” The key topic is additive technologies and the use of defense industry technologies on the “civilian”.

“Technoprom gives impetus to the development of new technologies and directions. Here, strategic priorities of state policies are defined,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, who is the Head of the Organizing Committee on the Implementation of the IFTD.

The Vice Prime Minister, together with the Defense Minister of the Republic of India Arun Jeytli, the Presidential Plenipotentiary to the Siberian Federal District Sergey Menyaylo and the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Vladimir Gorodetsky were acquainted with the latest achievements in science and the developments of innovative companies presented at the STI EXPO National Exhibition of Science, Technologies and Innovation 2017. Novosibirsk enterprises and scientific organizations exhibited their latest products and developments ready for use in specific fields of activity.

Based on breakthrough technologies, a program for the reindustrialization of the economy of the Novosibirsk Region was created. The document was also presented for the first time at Technoprom. Two years later, Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky spoke again on specific stages in the implementation of the regional program. Last year, it was highly appreciated by leading experts of the country and federal ministries and departments. Eight flagship projects were also approved by members of the working group led by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich. The projects focus on automation of process control systems, industrial production of carbon nanotubes and modifiers, development of the Novosibirsk Cluster of High-Tech Medicine in the Field of Cardiology and Orthopedics, as well as organization of the production of modern biotechnological preparations and enzymes for fodder production.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov believes that the uniqueness of the Novosibirsk experience in re-industrialization is that it was here that we managed to create an effective mechanism for joint work at all levels of government – from municipal to federal one, with a high degree of interaction with business, science and education.

“We will continue implementing the regional re-industrialization program following four new directions. Now that the basic tools for supporting technological development have been launched, a new stage has been initiated – the stage of rethinking the role of the infrastructure and its individual elements,” said Vladimir Gorodetsky.

In his opinion, approaches to providing support must be changed: support shall be provided to individual projects, not to enterprises. More active development of interregional cooperation must be achieved for the purpose of entering foreign markets, which is not only an ambitious goal, but also an indicator of development.

Experts have noted that the Novosibirsk Region has always paid great attention to the development of youth innovation movements and start-ups. This is confirmed by the 6th Siberian Venture Fair, which was organized as part of the annual forum. Of the thirty innovative projects that were presented at the exhibition stand, 27 were from the Novosibirsk Region.

More than one and a half thousand people constituted the youth audience of the Technoprom Forum. Its educational program was aimed at training personnel for high-tech innovative productions.
